Chuck Rainey was born 1940 and plays bass since the early 60's. He played with Sam Cooke, King Curtis, the Supremes, Quincy Jones, Louis Armstrong, Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin, Bette Middler, Marvin Gaye, Dusty Springfield and Ry Cooder.
I met him during a Warwick bass promo at the music store in Cologne, where he performed with Ove Bosch and Stu Hamm - for whom I made a portrait shot he used for his latest album.
Because I always carry a mobile photo studio around in my car, I was able to do a spontaneous portrait shooting.
Chuck Rainey had a stroke in 2011 but he recovered and plays the bass like nothing ever happened. He sure is one of the most humble, polite and nice people I ever had the chance to portrait.

Du machst ehrliche Fotos, ohne Schnörkel und ohne Photoshop! Deine Fotos zeigen die Menschen auf respektvolle Art und Weise in einer Momentaufnahme so, wie sie sind.
